The judgement
It is hexagram 28 of the I Ching, formed by the Wind trigram below and the Lake one above: six lines, three for each trigram. Preponderance of the Great: the ridgepole is too weak for the roof. Too much weight on a thin structure. An extraordinary act is needed, or a lightening.
Trigrams
- Lower
- 巽 Wind
- Upper
- 兌 Lake
What it means today
You are carrying more than the structure will hold — work, family, debt, image. Either reinforce the beam, or take off load. Solitary heroism is not enough.
Classic image
The lake submerges the trees. The wise person stands alone without fear, withdraws from the world without sadness.
Love
In love a relationship is bending one of the two. Renegotiate the weight, or the beam breaks.
Work
At work a project is oversized. Reduce the scope or add real pillars (people, time, money).
Relationships
In relationships, do not be the roof for everyone. Martyrdom creates collapses, not gratitude.
Decisions
Decide where to lighten. It is more courageous to take away than to add.
